Dorothy Bishop, 87 of Lampasas, TX died May 21, 2019 at her home. She was born September 12, 1931 in Waco, Texas to parents William Dotson Corder and Rachel Inez (Addison) Corder. Dorothy grew up in Burnet and after graduating from High School attended Tarleton Teacher’s College in Stephenville. She met her future husband in Burnet while he was working as a camp counselor at Camp Longhorn. Dorothy married Alton A. Bishop January 4, 1952 in Burnet, Texas. The family moved to Lampasas in 1962. Dorothy was a member of Community Church in Lampasas, Thursday Luncheon Club and she enjoyed playing bridge. She was a member of the Daughter’s of the Republic of Texas and she was a volunteer leader of the HOSTS reading program at the elementary school in Lampasas. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Alton A. Bishop Sons; Dr. Al Bishop and wife Shirlene of Austin Mark Bishop and wife Ladonna of Lampasas Daughters; Rachel Bishop of Ennis Mary Anne Collins and husband Tim of Belton Carmen Colon and husband Luis of Liberty Hill Grandchildren; Allyson, Ryan, Sarah, Nola Ann, Jesse, Rachel, Rebeca. Great-grandchildren; Katherine, Camille, Caroline, Jack, Corder, Elizabeth.   Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, by 4 sisters; Mary Anne Cure, Rachel Maples, Ruth Neal Patteson and Catherine Harden and by an infant son, David Bishop.    Funeral service will be Saturday May 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at New Covenant Church.
