Doris Jean Akana

Doris Jean Akana, 78, of Lampasas, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, in Temple, TX.

A celebration of life for Doris will be held in Maui at a later date.

Doris was born on December 6, 1944 in Agua Dulce, Texas.  She married James S. Akana on February 14, 2012.  Doris worked at Oil States for 8 years and Pioneer Gas Station for 16 years.  She loved to fish, play bingo, go to the casino and her trips to Hawaii.

She is survived by her husband, James S. Akana; her two daughters, Kathy Lindsey and Virginia Bunting; her sister-in-law, Mary Leinneweber and her children, Tommie, Cindy, Cherlyn, Candi, and Marcie.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy; her mother, Lela; her brother, Wilton, and her sisters, Audrey and Pat.
