Dolly Hester
February 10, 1933 — July 18, 2016
Dolly B. Hester, 83, of Copperas Cove and formerly of Blue, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016. Graveside Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Gillum Cemetery in Briggs. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
Dolly was born on February 10, 1933 in Burnet County to the late William and Sarah Smith Brittain. She was raised in the Oakalla area and graduated from Briggs High School in 1948. Dolly raised her two sons in Austin and later marring John Hester in 1963. They retired to Blue, Texas in 1977 where she embraced ranching, gardening, cooking. Dolly also loved her church, Knobbs Springs Baptist Church in Blue. She loved to serve in all aspects of the church including singing in the choir and helping with VBS.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, John Hester in 2005; four sisters and three brothers.
Dolly is survived by her sons, Jerry Buck and wife, Lynn; Jack Buck; sister, Willie B. Spillar; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
