Dick Bettle

G.R. (Dick) Bettle 77, of Ft. Worth, TX died Sunday January 21, 2018 of a massive stroke.     Funeral service will be Saturday January 27, 2018 at New Covenant Church at 10:00 a.m.     Survivors include his wife, Liz Kingston Bettle, son, Andrew Bettle, grandchildren; Colleen Miller, Andrea Bettle and Andrew Bettle Jr. ( otherwise known as BoBo), great-grandchild, Emma Miller and one cousin, Kay Beaird.   Dick was born in Harlingen, TX where his father worked for the Boundary and Reclamation Dept. He grew up in El Paso and graduated from Austin High School there. Dick later graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and was commissioned as an officer in the USMC. He served 20 years as a pilot, retiring in 1983. The Bettle family lived in Lampasas until May 2017 when Dick and Liz moved to Ft. Worth to be near their son.
