Lampasas

Diane Richey entered her heavenly home on Saturday, March 29, 2025.  Diane was born on January 25, 1955, in Vandalia, Illinois to John and Dorothy Horsley.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Lampasas, Texas, on Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Ochsner officiating.  A private interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Diane grew up in the Midwest, living with her family in Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma, and finally Midland, Texas, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. After high school, she attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where she received a bachelor's degree in education. Diane taught primarily middle school math and retired in 2008.

Diane married Tommy Haralson of Lampasas in 1990.  They were happily married for 21 years before his death in 2011.  In 2017, Diane met and married Rick Richey, also of Lampasas.  After a brief but cherished time, Rick passed away in 2019.  Diane was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barbara.

Diane is survived by her two sisters, Carol Massie and Kathy McCown (Jeff); nine nephews and nieces, Keith Massie (Lydia), Jason Massie (Alyssa), Jeff Massie (Emily), John Haralson, Patrick Haralson (Jesse), Matthew Haralson (Kelsi), Rachel Lopez (Angel), Megan McCown and Kade McCown.  To her 20 great-nieces and nephews, she was like a second grandmother, and she loved them dearly.

Diane loved her family, her friends, her church, and bridge.  As a child of God, her steadfast faith sustained her throughout her earthly life, and now she dwells in the house of the Lord forever.
