David Clark Van Pelt, 71, fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Townsen Cemetery in Adamsville. David was a member of the Lampasas Berean Christadelphian Ecclesia and his greatest joy was expounding and discussing the things concerning the Kingdom and Name of Christ. He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on September 1, 1948. Because his father Robert Van Pelt was in the U.S. Air Force he spent his very early years in occupied Germany and several years in France. David, although living in San Antonio, graduated from the Texas State School for the Blind in Austin and attended the University of Texas at Austin. He always felt blessed to be able to have various types of work including a job at the Light House for the Blind in Houston. His main career was 20 years as an Environmental Service Aide at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. In 2003, David and his family moved back to Texas, settling in Lampasas. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ruth Sarah Van Pelt Hall; parents, Robert and Dorothy Van Pelt; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Dick Slevins. Survivors: wife, Ruth (Lois) Van Pelt; daughter, Rebekah (Becky) Van Pelt of Leander, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and John Kennan of Bossier City, Louisiana and five grandchildren, Tiffany, Joseph, Payton, Kyle and Robert Hall.
