David Martinez

David A. Martinez, age 33, of McGregor, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, in Waco. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 5, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave, Waco, TX 76711 with burial following at Waco Memorial Park. A Rosary will be held at the Martinez home in McGregor on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, starting at 5:00 PM followed by visitation through Thursday evening.

David was born on October 21, 1988, in Temple, Texas to Nicolas and Juana Llanas Martinez. David graduated from McGregor High School in 2008. He married his Jr. High sweetheart, Cassandra Garza, on May 30, 2008, just hours before graduation. David and his father, Nicolas, had a construction business together for several years. David had a natural ability when it came to remodeling and construction. Recently David had started working in Hewitt and enjoyed the challenge of something new. He enjoyed planning and seeing it build. He also enjoyed riding his bike and hanging out with his biker buddies. David loved his family, and his BBQ was a hit at family gatherings. He also enjoyed fishing when he could get away. Most importantly, his two girls were his pride and joy.

David was preceded in death by his son, Zane Martinez in 2008.

David is survived by his wife, Cassandra Martinez; daughters, Juliet and Kaylee Martinez; parents, Nicolas and Juana Martinez; siblings, Nicolas Martinez, Jr., Angie Martinez, Luis Llanas, Juan Carlos Llanas, Benito Llanas, and Yosmayra Llanas. David is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
