Darren Jay Chapman, 43, of Kempner passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with Dr. Jim Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
Darren was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Ray and Chris Chapman. He attended school in Lampasas until he graduated from Lampasas High School in 1990. He was employed at H.E.B. in Lampasas for many years. Darren was also employed as an overhead door technician for 14 years. He also spent many years in the construction industry. Darren enjoyed wood working, drawing, fishing, and donating his time to The Boy Scouts of America.
Darren was preceded in death by his brothers, Doug and Lorne Chapman; his grandparents, Thomas and Pearl Chapman, and grandfather Irby Clark.
Darren is survived by his parents, Ray and Chris Chapman of Kempner; maternal grandmother, Ruby Clark of Adamsville; sister, Cyndi Chapman-Imhoff and husband, Jim of Kempner; brother, Greg Chapman and wife, Debbie of Kempner; two nieces, Ashley Mellon and husband, Quintin of Conroe and Jackie Hanke and husband, Justin of Kempner; two nephews, Logan Chapman of Copperas Cove and James Kyler Imhoff of Kempner. He is also survived by many dear relatives and friends.
