Cora Marable

September 27, 1945 — April 28, 2014

Cora Marable, 68, of Copperas Cove passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Cora was born on September 27, 1945 in Ullin, IL to the union of Willie Elmo and Lovie Geneva Eanes. She loved writing poems and sharing stories about Jesus Christ. She fought the good fight and kept the faith. Her mission in life was to be what God wanted her to be. She considered herself a missionary for God. Cora loved spreading the gospel to anyone who would listen. She loved visiting her children and grandchildren no matter where they were. She believed that without God in your life you could do nothing. Her favorite songs to sing in church were, “Through it all”, “He touched me” and “Without God”.

While waiting to meet our Lord and Savior she would sing the words to Holding On, "I'm still holding on to God's hand". Cora did this even when she could not recognize her children at times but always knew the words to this song. So through it all we know God was with her and she is in a better place. Like the song by Tamela Mann says, "Take me to the King", she is there. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jerry Marable; brother, Terry Eanes; sister, Carol Titsworth and three infant siblings.

She left this earth knowing she was loved by her family. She will always be remembered  and loved by her children, Karen McCaskill and husband Jerome, Kim Harris and husband, Steven, Johnathan Marable, Lisa Marable, Ciera Eanes; siblings, Flossie Bell and husband Clifford, Elmo Eanes and wife, Mary, Charlotte Eanes, Catherine Watkins, Jessie Eanes and wife Marilyn, James Eanes; 6 grandchildren and one great grandson.

All we can do is imagine that when she got to Heaven perhaps she stood in awe of God's glory, fell to her knees, sung hallelujah or didn’t speak at all. We find comfort in knowing she is with God.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the activity fund at Hill Country Nursing and Rehab in Copperas Cove where she spent her last days.
