Chester F. Bagby

Chester F. (Chet) Bagby, 97 of Lampasas, Texas died Tuesday night January 14, 2020 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. He was born March 1, 1922 in Blanco, Texas the son of Peggy Carnelia (Wagoner) Bagby and Roy Alvin Bagby. Chet married Billye Francys Weaver July 4, 1942. He was a pilot in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of The American Legion for 72 years, a member of Central Christian Church where he served as Chairman of the Board for many years, He worked as acting Postmaster in Llano, TX for a time and retired in 1980 as Superintendent of Operations for the Waco Sectional Center Postal Service. He and Billye were instrumental in purchasing the current Central Christian Church on Broad St and he worked as a volunteer at Lampasas Mission. He is survived by his Daughter, Debby Bagby Campbell and husband Wallace 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren   His sweetheart and wife of 82 years, Billye preceded him in death in 2018.   Funeral service will be Saturday January 18, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.   Memorials may be sent to Lampasas Mission or Central Christian Church in Lampasas.
