Charles M. Wilson, 75, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away on July 20, 2014. Funeral Services will be at 2 PM, Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with a reception to follow the service. Visitation will begin at 12:30 on Saturday before the service. Interment of his cremated remains will follow at a later date in Alliance, Nebraska.
Milt was born on June 22, 1939 in Alliance, Nebraska to the late Charles and Mary Condon Wilson. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1957. Milt received his Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from Chadron State College and his Master's in Education from Colorado State University. Milt loved working in public schools as a teacher, a principal and a superintendent. His administrative career culminated as a consultant with the State of Iowa Department of Education retiring in 2005. After retirement, he loved spending time with his family and friends. There was nothing more important to Milt than being with his grandkids. Milt also spent countless hours in the kitchen perfecting his skills as a gourmet chef and entertaining guests.
Milt is survived by his children, Dionne Marie Wilson and Charles Milton Wilson III and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Kayla Marie, Ashley Dionne, Zachary Charles, and Brooklynn Anne; sisters, Patricia Wilson, Cheryl Moran and husband Gary; his aunt, Alice Condon and his former spouse, Ruth Trierweiler Wilson. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved.
The family would like to thank the Doctors and staff at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and Scott & White Hospital in Temple, TX who enabled him to be the longest living liver cancer survivor in Mayo Clinic history.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Wrights Nursery at (512) 489-2239 in Milt’s name. All donations will be used to purchase trees to be planted in memory of Milt.
