Charles Robert Wegner Jr., known affectionately as Bob, was a dedicated individual who lived a life full of hard work and cherished moments with his loved ones. Born on June 4, 1960, in Ganado, AZ to Charles and Patricia Wegner. Bob's journey came to a peaceful end on July 6, 2024, at his home in Copperas Cove, TX after bravely facing a challenging battle with cancer.
Bob devoted six years of service to the United States Army, including a deployment to Desert Storm, showcasing his commitment to his country. His career led him to the oil industry in New Mexico, where he displayed a strong work ethic that earned him the respect of those around him.
Those who knew Bob will remember him for his love of the outdoors, finding joy in activities like fishing, hunting, and golfing. He shared many treasured moments with his wife Branda, particularly relishing their travels together and the new experiences they encountered.
In addition to his wife Branda, Bob is survived by a large and loving family. His daughters Kathy Ellison, Sherry Andrews, Tina Ciraulo and son-in-law Jerry Ellison will forever hold his memory dear. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandsons Brian, Steven and Chris Hill, Tyler Story, Cole Ellison and granddaughters April Sanders, Ashley Hancock, Kourtney Funnye, Katlyn Hancock, Kristen Sanders, Jenni Hill, Taylor Hill, Vanessa Story. His great-grandchildren Jaxyn Armstrong, Kaden Hill, Donovan Funnye Jr., and D'Angelo Funnye will continue to cherish his legacy.
Bob leaves behind a network of family and friends who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his father Charles Robert Wegner of Lovington, NM but leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever. To his mother Patricia Sword Willoughby; brother Jessie Thomas Wegner; sister-in-law Juana Wegner; sister Deliahla Vanderford; niece Ruby Kidd and her husband Dane Kidd; nephew James Vanderford; sister Elizabeth Wilbanks; brother-in-law Jason Wilbanks; nephews Ryan Wilbanks and Regan Wilbanks; niece Nicole Wilbanks; aunt Linda Pebsworth; uncle James Douglas Wegner and aunt Morgan Coggswell along with her husband Jerry Coggswell.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Bob's life on July 16th at 10:00 AM at the location -11463 TX-195 in Killeen,TX where he will be laid to rest surrounded by family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Bob Wegner's legacy lives on through the love he shared with those around him and the impact he made on all who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will always be remembered with affection.
