Charles Taylor, 74, of Kempner passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014. Funeral Services will be at Noon on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with burial following at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Charles was born on June 2, 1939 in Jacksonville, FL and was raised by his grandparents, Charles and Dora Taylor. He attended school in Daytona Beach, FL before joining the United States Army. Charles served his country for 21 years in the Army. After retirement he found his true love as a firefighter in Copperas Cove. Charles retired after 22 years of service. He met Marjorie Schwalm in Copperas Cove and they married on May 21, 1976. Charles was a devoted member of the Moose Lodge #2029 in Copperas Cove and also a founding member of Moose Riders C2. Additionally, he was a member of the VFW Post #3393 and American Legion Post #223.

Charles is survived by his wife, Marjorie Taylor; children, Charles Edward Taylor, III, Carol Hall and Aaron, Trina Taylor, Jerry Taylor and wife Audra; mother, Christine Murray; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
