Charles Hadley Dalton, Jr., 62, passed away on July 19, 2022, at his home, in Waco, TX. He was born on June 6, 1960, in Franklin, New Hampshire to Charles Hadley Dalton and Mary (Caldon) Dalton. Services will be held at the Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 11 am. Charles grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1978. After high school, he joined the Army in 1980 and served for 3 years. He received the Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter (M-16 Rifle), Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1983, achieving the rank of Specialist. After his military service, Charles began work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer where he worked for 30 years. Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, recreational shooting, taking care of his cat Meatball, driving his Mustang, and fixing up old stereo equipment. Additionally, Charles was a very loving and caring grandfather to his two granddaughters. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dalton; his sister, Patty Dalton, and his brother, Jeff Dalton. Survivors include his mother, Mary of Waco, TX; his son, Christopher of Killeen, TX; his sister, Diane Hayes, and her spouse Eddie of Glasgow, KY; his grandchildren, Gracee and Ivy Nelson, and his nephew, Josh Bates of Waco, TX.
