Cedelia Swindell

Cedelia Swindell, 60, passed away at home in Kempner. Graveside Services will be at 2 PM, March 10, 2016 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Cedelia was born on June 12, 1955 in Lumberston, NC to the late Clarence and Lucilla Pigford Thompson. She graduated from Pembroke High School in 1972. Cedelia married Jerry Swindell on June 24, 1972 in Dillion, SC. In 1977, her husband joined the United States Army and they served for 9 years. After their time in the service, they made Texas their home. Cedelia pursed an education in child development. She retired after 20 years of service from Fort Hood Child Development Center. Cedelia will be remembered as a great wife and mother. She enjoyed working in her garden and spending time traveling with her family.
Cedelia was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Cedelia is survived by her husband, Jerry Swindell; daughter, Cedelia D. Swindell; son, Jerry Swindell, II.; sisters, Bernice Small, Betty Jones; brothers, Larry Thompson, Arnold Thompson and many nieces and nephews.
