Caroline Mae Krans, age 96, of Lampasas, Texas, passed away on Father's Day, June 20, 2021, at home.
Memorial Services will be held for Caroline on Monday, June 28, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church in Lampasas at 10:30 a.m.
Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
Caroline was born on May 5, 1925, to Ernest Nelson and Hilma Nelson in Norway, Michigan where she spent her childhood. She married Edward O. Krans on May 9, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in Chilton, Wisconsin and Austin, Texas; and moved to Lampasas in 1982. She will be cremated and buried at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at a later date.
Caroline worked in the purchasing department at the University of Texas and later, at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Austin. Caroline was an accomplished pianist and was often accompanied by her husband on the violin. She served as church organist at various churches including Faith Lutheran, Lampasas. She loved to send cards and write letters as well as crochet. She was baptized at Swedish Lutheran Church in Norway, Michigan, and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on February 29, 1948.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 2007. She is survived by two sons, Glen Krans (Faye), of Virginia Beach, VA, and Neil Krans (Dorothy), of Pevely, MO; two daughters, Claire Neagley (Richard) of Horsham, PA, and Kay Gillian Parcher, of Winnsboro, TX; a sister, Bae Schneider, of Coleman, MI; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
