Carlton (Ras) Rasberry, age 76 of Copperas Cove, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2012 in a Killeen hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove, with Pastor Dillard Fisher, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery, with full military honors. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Carlton was born on April 8, 1937 in Decatur, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army for twenty six years, retiring in 1979, serving in Germany, Turkey, Vietnam and two tours in Korea. He married Pon Yun Chon in 1970. She preceded him in death in 2004. He later married Keum Soon Chun in 2005. He was employed at Central Texas College for twenty years, retiring in 2000. He has resided in Copperas Cove since 1974. He was a member of the Cove Korean Baptist Church, life member of VFW Post 8577 in Copperas Cove, and the DAV Chapter in Harker Heights.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Keum Soon Rasberry; two sons, Ben (Benny) Rasberry and wife Lois of Baytown, Craig Rasberry and wife Cathy of Boyd; sister, Delores Rasberry; brother, Jerry Rasberry; grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Danielle, Jasmin and Cala; a great grandchild, Xavier Benjamin.
Memorials may be made to any Veterans service organization.
