Carla Pequinot

Carla Jean Northam Pequinot, 76, of Kempner passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Viss Family Funeral Home, 1614 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.

Carla was born on September 19, 1945, in Belton, Texas to Jim Curtis and Juanita Estelle (Boren) Northam. Carla grew up in Belton and graduated from Belton High School. Just a week after graduating, Carla married John Pequinot on June 1, 1963, and began to travel the world by his side. Together, they lived in Germany, Colorado, Washington State, and Louisiana.

Carla was active in several programs throughout the years. She served as a Den Mom for the Cub Scouts while in Germany and even hosted a church in her apartment when there was nowhere to gather.

Carla loved researching her family history and was very active with Ancestry.com. She was an avid reader, a wonderful seamstress, and an all-around creative person.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Juanita Northam, and her brother, Dwayne “Patches” Northam.

Carla is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Pequinot; children, Scott Pequinot, Shane Pequinot and wife Gail, both of Copperas Cove, TX; Stacey Stark and husband David of Portland, TX; grandchildren, Audrey Sims of El Paso, TX, Chad Ham of Conroe, TX, Levi Stark of Nashville, TN, Ryan Stark of Portland, TX, Samantha Pequinot of Copperas Cove, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
