Carl Dwayne Whitehead

Carl Dwayne Whitehead, 79, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home in Copperas Cove, Texas.  He was born on September 11, 1945, in Orange, Texas to Joseph Cullen and Garvis Lowery Whitehead.

Graveside services will be held at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Carl grew up in Jacksonville, Texas.  After high school, he joined the Army in 1964 and served for 20 years.  He served the majority of his career, as a Pershing Missile Electronics Repairer.  He retired in 1984, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant.  After he retired from the Army, he attended Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas where he received a certificate in Heating and Air Conditioning Repair and Maintenance.  He then began work for AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange Service) installing and repairing refrigeration systems, where he worked for over twenty years until retirement.

Carl married Monika Jaeger in 1968, in Jacksonville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cullen Whitehead and Garvis Nell Watson.

Carl is survived by his spouse, Monika of Copperas Cove, Texas; his sons, Martin and Jeanette Whitehead of Leander, Texas, and Gregory Whitehead of Austin, Texas; his brothers, Jimmy Whitehead of Whitehouse, Texas, and Billy and Ginger Whitehead of Jacksonville, Texas; and his grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer.
