Calvin Humble

Calvin W. Humble, age 88, of Copperas Cove passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020. A Memorial Graveside will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Calvin was born on March 25, 1931, to the late Eddie and Luella Hall Humble in Gueyden, LA. He graduated from Gueyden High School in 1949.  In 1951, he joined the United States Army and served for two years during the Korean Conflict. He married Alice Mauersberger on February 22, 1953, in Marlow, OK and they settled in Copperas Cove after his time with the Army. Calvin retired from Civil Service in 1994. He was a member of the VFW Post #8577, the American Legion Post #223, was an amateur radio operator since 1963 (call sign WA5MZS), member of Temple Gem & Mineral Society and the National Rifle Association.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Earl Wayne Humble; brothers, Charles Humble, Willie Humble; and a sister, Hattie Matthews

Calvin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alice Humble; daughters, Linda Neill and Janice Whiteley; sisters, Nancey Rushing Humble, Elaine Doucet; sister-in-law, Mary Faye Mauersberger; grandchildren, Brenda Neill, Charles Neill, David Neill; and a host of great-grandchildren.
