C. G. "Corky" Richardson

C. G. “Corky” Richardson, 86 of Lampasas, Texas died Saturday May 4, 2019 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital (Advent Health) Lampasas. He was born April 17, 1933 in Somerset, Texas to parents John Clyde Richardson and Ola Jane (Gray) Richardson. Corky grew up in Somerset and after graduating from High School there, joined the U.S. Army. He served 2 years during the Korean Conflict with 82nd Airborne Division. He married Dorothy Roark January 29, 1953. Corky began a career in the tile business in 1955 by establishing Richardson Tile Co. The Zachary Co. and the Guyler Co. were credited in giving Richardson Tile Co. some of those first jobs and many more that followed. Richardson Tile did work in many states around the U.S. and in Puerto Rico. Corky was selected as Tile Contractor of the year. He moved his family from Wichita Falls to Lampasas in 1971 and continued his successful business there. He also owned Lampasas Imports, a cantera stone company that designed and carved imported stones from Mexico. Corky was very community oriented and generous, helping with many local projects. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Wichita Falls Elks Lodge No. 1105 and a Shriner. He was happiest when playing dominos with friends and entertaining and spending time with grandkids and great-grandkids. He is survived by his Wife, Dorothy Richardson Sons; Greg Richardson (Meret) Mike Richardson (Kay) Daughter, Molly Maples (Clifford) Sister, Geraldine Carrington (Pete) 9 Grandchildren 10 Great-grandchildren   Corky was preceded in death by his parents, by brother, J.K. Richardson    Funeral service will be Wednesday May 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Fellowship. Burial will be Thursday May 9, 2019 at Bexar County Cemetery near Somerset, TX at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers you may give to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Rollins Brook Community Hospital or church of your choice.
