Brenda Mccoy

Brenda Ann McCoy, age 62, of Copperas Cove passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2019, at Scott’s Funeral Home.

Brenda was born on November 28, 1956, in Ontario, Canada to Charles and Betty Wass. She grew up in Warren, Michigan and attended school at Centerline High School. On December 3, 1973, she married Johnny McCoy in Warren, Michigan. Brenda always said she fell in love from the moment they met. After Johnny joined the United States Army in 1977, they moved to Fort Hood, Texas. Brenda and Johnny enjoyed the area so much that they decided to return after Johnny’s time spent in the military to raise their three children. Brenda worked for a time with Dell and Selectron. She was also employed as an accountant out at Central Texas College.

Brenda will be remembered for the love she had for all people and animals alike. Her amazing heart guided her to a firm belief in helping those in need. Apart from her love of all people, she loved her family the most but her love for her “Johnnycoy” would go unmatched.  Brenda had a smile that could light up a room and showed so much emotion in her eyes she could melt your soul with one look.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Charles and her son, Merrill Don McCoy. She was also preceded in death by her cherished pets, Socks, Angel, and Baby

Brenda is survived by her husband, Johnny McCoy; son, Charles McCoy; daughter, Jennifer Metcalf and husband, Jeffery; mother, Betty Wass; sisters, Wendy Fitzgerald and husband, Craig, Susan Durlock and husband, Wayne, Gaye Wass, Lynn Edwards and husband, Doug; two grandchildren, Lillian and Eileen Metcalf. Brenda is also survived by her rescue dog, Shadow.
