Billy Adams, Capt. Usaf, Ret.

Billy H. Adams, 89, of Killeen passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2903 E. Rancier Ave in Killeen with interment following with full Military Honors at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Billy was born on January 3, 1927 in Katy, Texas to the late Clyde and Buena Wood Adams. His love for aviation all stared at the age of 14, when he flew his first plane. Billy joined the United State Air Force in 1944 and served for almost 27 years during WW II and the Korean Conflict before retiring in 1970. After his retirement from the Air Force he operated a private pilot school and also worked for several banks transferring money in his "Mustang" plane. After his second retirement, he took to the sea and bought a sailboat. Billy sailed all over the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. He eventfully settled in Dominican Republic where he met Margarita Aracena and they married in 2004. They came back to Texas in 2009 and lived in Killeen. Billy will be remembered as a great man and father to his family.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Holly Ann Doherty.

Billy is survived by his wife, Margarita Adams; daughter, Candace Jo Smith; sons, James Cahein Adams, Arismendy Adams, Robin Adams, Yeferson Adams; and several grandchildren.
