Betty "Beanie" Gerlecz, age 85, of Copperas Cove, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel of Copperas Cove.
Betty was born on May 24, 1928 in Utica, Kansas, to the late Floyd and Margaret Jones Westover. She grew up in Junction City, Kansas with her brothers, Gene, Vern, Leonard and sister, Dorothy. She married John Gerlecz on August 25, 1949. They resided in Omaha, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on June 10, 2002. She has resided in Copperas Cove since 2001. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her brothers and a son, Michael Gerlecz in 2009.
She is survived by daughters, Cindy Adams, Nancy Gerlecz; sons, Tom Gerlecz, Joe Gerlecz; sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Martin; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been designated to the Alzheimers Association.
