Bernard Dave Paddie Sr.

Bernard Dave Paddie, 82 of Georgetown, TX passed away November 1, 2019 at Baylor Scott and White Round Rock. He was born January 4, 1937 in Noble, LA to parents Dave and Bessie (Santos) Paddie. Dave graduated from Pelican High School in Benson, LA before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served his Country for 20 years with the military. During his two tours of duty in Vietnam he received several commendations including the Bronze Star 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster and Air Medal 7th Oak Leaf Cluster with V Device (valor). After retiring from military service, he went to work for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Dave was the first park ranger assigned to what is now Colorado Bend State Park. He was an avid sportsman that truly loved fishing. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart. At his home his grandchildren fell under what we call “Pa Pa’s” rules. One such memory is the grandkids would each get their own spoon and then eat ice cream straight from the carton. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sally Paddie Son, Dave Paddie and wife Ursula of Lampasas Daughters; Diana Jackson and husband Randle of Kempner Dawn Carpenter and husband Chris of Arlington Step-daughters; Sabrina Bryant and husband Jerry of Georgetown Naomi Olofsson and husband Michael of Sweden Grandchildren; Marie Paddie (Eric), Sara Burke (Tyler), Caden Carpenter Step-grandchildren; Jay Bryant (Charlie), Dalton Bryant, Hanna Olofsson, Caitlyn Olofsson, Kevin Olofsson, Jaycee Bryant, Katie Bryant. Brother, Ray Paddie, Sister, Hannah (Hazel) Peavy as well as numerous nephews and nieces that Dave was fondly known to as Uncle Peanut.   Dave was preceded in death by his first wife Edda, his parents and by siblings Marie Paddie Creel, by 4 brothers, Maurice (BB), Forrest, Herbert, Marvin (Tash).   Funeral service will be Wednesday November 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.   Memorials may be sent St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.
