Bennie DuVall Bulloch

Bennie Earle DuVall Bulloch was called to be with our Lord on Sunday evening, November 5, 2023.  She was at home with family.

Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 2 pm.   Interment following will be private.

Bennie Bulloch was born April 8, 1933, in Lakeview, Texas to Horace J. and Lolo Davenport DuVall.  She grew up in Lakeview, Texas.  She was Valedictorian of the 1950 graduating class from Lakeview High School.  She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education in 1954.  She went on to work at Shamrock Oil and Gas in Amarillo until she married Don K. Bulloch.

Don and Bennie were married June 30, 1957.  They then moved to Houston in August of that year for Don to attend Dental School.  Upon Don's graduation in 1961, they moved to Lampasas where Don purchased the dental practice of Dr. Jerry Strader and remained in the same office on 4th street until he retired in 2010.  They were members of the First Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Bennie was active in dental associations and was elected to several offices in the Heart of Texas District Dental Auxiliary and served as President of the Women's Auxiliary to the Texas Dental Association 1973-1974.

Bennie worked as a legal secretary for Vinson, Elkins, Weems and Searls in Houston and then for J.V. Hammett in Lampasas, but her true love was teaching.  She taught Vocational Office Education at Lampasas High School from 1979 until her retirement in 1991.  She was inducted into Who's Who of American Women in 1986 and Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1992.

Bennie was a member of the Lampasas Public Library Board as well as the Pierian Club, Retired Teachers Association and also a member of several local Bridge Clubs.

Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, Horace J. and Lolo DuVall, brother, David DuVall and the love of her life for 57 wonderful years, Don K. Bulloch.

She is survived by her children, Don K. Bulloch, Jr. and wife Carolyne of Lampasas, Bryan Bulloch and wife Janet of Plano, and Sarah Bulloch and husband Jim of Grapevine; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Lampasas, 406 S. Walnut in Lampasas.
