Belva Jean Ayers, 81 of Lampasas, Texas died Wednesday March 19, 2019 at Spring Oaks Nursing and Rehab. She was born May 12, 1937 near Antelope Hill (now Ft. Hood, TX) to parents Arnold Manning and Myrtle (Cox) Manning. She married Jessie Ayers and they lived a short time in California. The family moved to Austin, TX and remained there about 17 years. The majority of her life was spent near Kempner, TX. Jean ran the daycare at Copperas Cove Presbyterian Church for 20 years and she was a homemaker. She loved needle work, crocheting, embroidery and quilting and growing flowers. She is survived by her husband, Jessie Ayers Son, John Ayers Daughter, Sharon Herbst (Dennis) Daughter-in-law, Jeannie Ayers 5 grandchildren; Kelly Criddle (Zac), Jennifer Ayers, Jordan Herbst (Jordy), Jessie Herbst and Jeremy Ayers. One great-grandchild, Wren Jean was preceded in death by her parents, by 2 brothers, and 2 sisters and by 2 sons, James and Paul Ayers. Graveside funeral service will be Friday March 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillsdale Cemetery near Izoro.
