Barford Scott Wilson Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away in his home in Copperas Cove, TX, on September 19, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on September 16, 1954, in Lancaster, PA, Scott was larger than life, with a personality that shined brightly in every room he entered. His laughter was infectious, echoing off the walls with a warmth that drew people in. He had a gift for storytelling, capturing the hearts of his audience with vivid descriptions and extraordinary adventures.

Scott's journey began at McCaskey High School in Lancaster, where his magnetic charm and ability to connect with others first blossomed. He later earned his bachelor's degree from Excelsior University in Albany, NY, a testament to his commitment to lifelong learning. He dedicated 38 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Military. First, in the United States Navy and then in the United States Army where he served most of his time; culminating in his retirement in 2008 as Chief Warrant Officer 5. His military service was not just a career but a calling that deeply influenced his character and values.

In his personal life, Scott was an avid golfer, relishing the opportunity to hit the greens, particularly in Key West, FL. He was equally passionate about riding his Harley motorcycle and traveling across the country, embracing the freedom of the open road. One of his greatest joys was spending time by the water, particularly when it involved fishing—or attempting to fish—with his beloved son.

Scott leaves behind his cherished family: his son, Barford Scott Wilson Jr., and daughter-in-law, Camila Cristiani-Wilson; his beloved daughter, Shauna Lee Wilson; and his treasured grandsons, Hunter and Greyson Simmons. He is also survived by his devoted brother, Clifford S. Wilson; his caring sister, Michele L. Kauffman, and brother-in-law, Joseph Kauffman; his loving sister, Denise J. Wilson; and his loyal companion, Blu.  He now joins those who have gone before him, including his father, Barford Wilson, and mother, Marcia (Hostetter) Wilson.

A graveside service to celebrate Scott's life will be held on October 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor the memory of a man whose life was a tapestry of laughter, adventure, and love. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the stories he shared, the lessons he taught, and the joy he brought into our lives. Scott's spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light in our memories.
