Arthur Copeland

Bud Copeland, age 78, of Copperas Cove passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Kirby Ratliff Funeral Home, 1106 N. Main Street in Lovington, NM.

Bud was devoted to and loved his wife, family, and his friends. He loved life, a good joke, stayed very active and enjoyed many adventures with Rhonda by his side.  A few of his favorite activities were visiting with his family and friends, dancing, traveling, fishing, and gardening. If someone needed help, they knew they could count on Bud. Whether it was driving them to the doctor, making home repairs or helping them move, he was there with that irresistible smile.

Bud was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nell and Buster; his first wife, Judy Copeland; daughter, Sheila Copeland; step-daughter, Amy Knox; great-grandson, Braxton Kuykendall; brother, Paul Copeland; and two sisters, Emma Ruth “Jo” Bailon and Edith Lowry.

Bud is survived by his wife, Rhonda Copeland; three sons, Arthur Louis “Buddy” Copeland, Jr. and his wife, Lupe, Michael Copeland and his wife, Georgia, and Danny Copeland; two brothers, Charles and his wife, Nadine, and Ray Copeland; and many extended family and friends.  He was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
