Ann Marie Harris, 57, of Kempner, died suddenly at her home on March 27, 2014. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Smith Cemetery in Kempner. No visitation is scheduled.
Ann was born to James and Joan Harris on February 10, 1957 at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA where her father was stationed. After residing in Washington, D.C. and Virginia for a time, Ann settled in Arizona where she worked as a paralegal before joining the staff of Arizona State University. Three years ago she moved to Kempner, TX to be with her mother and her Aunt Fern Berry. Ann was a jovial, generous and kind-hearted person whose infectious laugh cheered anyone who was around her. She was one of those people you were glad to see coming.
Ann leaves behind her mother, Joan; “Auntie” Fern Berry; her cousins, Duane Berry with his wife, Cindy of Kempner, TX and Allison Berry of Baltimore, MD; and the many friends from everywhere she has lived. Also in mourning are the three kitties she took in as strays to live “the good life”. One of Ann's long standing requests was that donations be given to the Centex Humane Society in lieu of flowers. Ann had a deep-seated faith in God and when Jesus called, she answered.
