Andrew Gordon Irvin, 56, passed away on July 19, 2023, at Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock, Texas. He was born on September 6, 1966, in Lampasas, Texas, to Atha Harrel Irvin and Emma Kathryn Mueller Irvin.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Lampasas on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 2 pm with interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Andrew grew up in Lampasas. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1985. He was a member of the Lampasas High School football team and was a proud battling badger. After high school, Andrew worked at a few different jobs before forming A.G. Irvin Steel Erectors, Inc., in 1998. He was a very successful businessman and well-liked in the construction industry. Andrew enjoyed farming, raising cattle and sheep, and anything related to ranching. He loved life and was a strong Christian man who loved his family and friends. Andrew (Big A) never met a stranger and always was the life of the party, no matter where he was. Andrew had a heart of gold and would help anyone that crossed his path. Some of Andrew's greatest memories were hunting in West Texas with all of his hunting buddies and spending time with his family.
Andrew married Tracy, his high school sweetheart, in 1988 in Lampasas. He was married to the light of his life for 35 years. Andrew attended and was on the security committee at Grace Fellowship Church. Andrew was instrumental in passing the bond for the new high school while on the School Board from 2006 to 2009. He also served on the Spring Ho Committee, the Lampasas County Livestock Association, and the Lampasas Badger Quarterback Club, and was currently serving on the Bozarth Fowler Committee.
Andrew was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harrel and Kathryn Irvin, and his mother-in-law, Dixie Griffin.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Tracy, of Lampasas; his sons, Layton Irvin and wife Dala, Logan Irvin and fiance Kirby Evelo, and Landon Irvin and girlfriend Kayla Ferraro all of Lampasas; his siblings, Judith Stark of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Dee Irvin and wife Lurene of Granite Shoals, Texas, Nancy Roden and husband Jeff of Lampasas, Texas, Mike Irvin of Cedar Park, Texas, Paul Irvin and wife Chandra of Marble Falls, Texas; his father-in-law, Ed Griffin; sister-in-law, Connie Johle and husband Tim; brother-in-law, David Griffin, all of Lampasas and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lampasas County Livestock Association, the Badger Quarterback Club, or the Bozarth Fowler Scholarship Fund.
