Aline Arnold Watson, 88, a former resident of Rosenberg, Texas passed peacefully in Temple, TX on July 19, 2022, after a short illness. A Celebration of Life for Aline is being planned and a date is as yet to be determined.
Ms. Watson was born May 5, 1934, in Concord, Texas to Frank Martin Arnold and Myrtle Owens Arnold. She was a member of the Appalachia pioneering families that settled the Tyler area before the Civil War.
Although having a meager education Aline was self-taught and very ambitious. Aline was a popular employee of Coats Minimax & the Miller family’s Texas Grill, while simultaneously having a successful career in lumber sales. Aline traveled extensively, and she especially enjoyed the mountains of Colorado. She was a prolific reader. Many friends and family treasure and adorn their homes with Aline’s crafts including her beautiful crochet work. She passed her skills on to her daughters, daughter-in-laws, grand and great-grandchildren.
While Aline’s huge family and circle of friends are heartbroken, they take solace in that Aline was a woman of faith and have confidence in the Lord’s comforting words:
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
John 10:27-29
Aline is survived by a sister, Helen Arnold Hamilton of Kilgore; sister-in-law, Hazel Alewine Arnold of Troup; two daughters, Cordelia (Deedy) Bean of Sugarland, Sandy Cox and her husband Michael of Killeen; three sons, Don Clayton Guntle and his wife Norma of Katy, Roger Alan Guntle and his wife Carol of Beasley, Carl Arnold Guntle and his wife Carol of Hallettsville; ten grandchildren, Cordelia (Loretta) Bean, Scott Bean and Nancy, Purity Austin, Charles (Bro) Austin and wife Anna, Nathan Guntle and wife Danielle, Aaron Austin and wife Leighanne, Megan Hernandez and husband Jesse, Sadie Chambers and husband Jed, Gabriel Austin and wife Amy, Daniel Guntle and wife Linda; plus 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
