James Roy Haralson, 88, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in Liberal, KS. He was born May 18, 1929 to Delbert L. Haralson Sr. and Sue Baylor Haralson in McAllen, TX, and grew up in San Angelo, TX. He graduated from San Angelo High School in 1947. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 1951 with a degree in Agricultural Economics and, upon graduating, entered the United States Air Force and proudly served his country in Japan. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Renee’ Haralson of Turpin, OK, one daughter and son-in-law, Leah and Joe Reed of Alvin, TX and daughter in law, Diane Haralson of Lampasas, TX who was married to Thomas Haralson who preceded him in death. “Jimmy” had 4 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He had numerous “step” great grandchildren through Mark and Renee’s marriage that enjoyed spending time with him. He is also survived by one of his two brothers, John Baylor “J.B.” Haralson. His older brother, Delbert Leon Haralson, Jr. preceded him in death. He also had numerous nieces and nephews. During his lifetime, Jimmy served as an Air Force Officer, Extension Agent, banker and a rancher. He loved painting and working in his greenhouse, grafting flowers of all types. He was especially fond of hibiscus and roses. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas, TX. Interment will follow at Corn Hill Cemetery in Jarrell, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations to Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, KS are welcome and appreciated.
