Linda Lynette Keeling, 70 passed to be with the Lord on June 28, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be Friday June 30, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Funeral will be Sunday July 2, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at Briggs Baptist Church in Briggs, followed by burial in Prairie View Cemetery.
Linda was born June 29, 1946 in Austin, TX to George Wells Hurt and Dora Inez (Galloway) Hurt. She graduated from McCallum High School. She married Stanley “Gene” Keeling April 17, 1964. Linda worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin until the arrival of her children. She also worked for W.L. Gore in Manor, then at Del Valle High School as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed more than anything else working with the school kids. Linda retired in 2006 and moved with her family to Briggs. She had a vision to open a food pantry and received permission and support to do so from Briggs Baptist Church. She participated in that work until health required she stop.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
