Myrtle M. Taylor

Myrtle M. Taylor, 95 of Lampasas, TX died June 15, 2017 at a local nursing home. Myrtle was born June 17, 1921 in Tupelo, MS the daughter of Hubert S. Whitenton and Daisy R. (Edwards) Whitenton. She moved to McKinney, TX at age 15. She married Raymond Ray Taylor in 1937 and they moved to Kermit, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. Odessa, TX was home for the family for many years. Myrtle loved ballroom dancing and playing cards. She moved to this area in 2007. Visitation will be Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for Thursday June 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will be Friday June 23, 2017 in Greenwood Cemetery in Ft Worth, TX. Survivors include; 2 daughters; Sue King and Sharon McGehee both of Lampasas 3 grandchildren; Suzanna Laporte, Vic Burnette and Bradley Burnette. 5 great-grandchildren; Elizabeth York, Phillip Burnette, George Laporte, Michael Laporte and Christopher Laporte. One great great-grandchild, Jocelyn Ibarra Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband and by 2 sisters; Helen Skelton and Miriam Tunnell and by her grandson, Buddy Ray York.
