Waymon Dalton Davis, 85, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Rollins Brook Hospital following a lengthy illness. Waymon was born on a farm in Sanger, Tx to Cordy and Lois Davis. He completed high school in Sanger and then went on to Texas Tech (Texas Technological University at the time), majoring in Animal Husbandry. He was also in ROTC. After graduating from college, he entered the Army and was stationed at Ft Hood. There he met Carol Moore and they married in 1955. He completed his tour with the military and became the County Agent in Bosque County Tx. In 1961, he moved to Burnet County to take over running of the Lillie Belle Ranch located between Lampasas and Burnet. In addition to running the ranch, he became an agent for GPM Life Insurance Company from which he retired after 30 years. Waymon was a long-time member of the Methodist Church, serving on many committees, including Finance, Administrative, and SPRC. He and Carol were members of an RV Club for several years after retirement, enjoying travelling around Texas with the club, playing games and socializing, until Carol’s death in 2013. Waymon is survived by three children, Danny Ray (Sendy), Cindy McCarville (Marty Oerter), and Ronald Waymon (Amy); 7 grandchildren: Drew, David, Kimberly, Kaylee, Lillie, Michael, and Shrader. Viewing will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel Friday, 5:00-7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Naruna Cemetery.
