Harold Loyd Chism, 70, of Kempner, TX died April 20, 2017 at Scott and White Hospital after battling long illness. Loyd was born January 28, 1947 in El Paso, TX the son of Harold B. Chism and Betty Louise (Langlow) Chism. He grew up in El Paso and after graduating from high school there, he entered the military. While serving in the U.S. Army Loyd trained as a physician’s assistant. He worked in that area his entire career. Duty stations were; Ft.Bliss, Ft Ord, Ft Hood, Ft. Sill, Ft. Sam, Germany. He also served in Desert Storm. After retiring from the Army, Loyd began working for the state Prison system as a P.A. and retired from there. He later worked at Family Medicine Clinic for 10 years as well. He married Sherita Followwell and was a member of Church of The Hills in Lometa. Funeral service for Harold Loyd Chism will be held on Tuesday April 25, 2017 at 9:00 am at Church of The Hills with Pastor Drew Brassfield officiating. Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX at noon. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Family includes; wife, Sherita Chism of Kempner Son, James Chism and Keri of Lometa Daughter, Sarah Belanger and R.J. of Kempner Brother, Dick Chism and Sandy of Meadowlakes Brother-in-law, Robert Followwell and Mandy of Brownwood Grandchildren; Hayden Chism (Madison Verastegui) Ashton Chism, Addison Chism, Greenlee Chism, Micah Belanger, Marshall Belanger, Neely Miller. Great-grandchild, Judson Chism. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents. I lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to The Harbor in Lometa, TX.
