Elwanda Bell Medart, age 94, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 08th, 2017. Mrs. Medart was born on April 11th, 1922, to Bert and Dovie Bell of Copperas Cove, Texas. She was married to Thomas Arthur Medart Sr. for 56 years. They had one son, Thomas Arthur Medart Jr. She was known as Nanny and Grannanny to all who knew and loved her. Her first love was for God, Family, and Friends. Her greatest desire in life was to stay sweet in spirit, young at heart, and a help to others. When she moved to Pottsboro, Texas in 2004, she became a member of the First Baptist Church in town. Elwanda Medart was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Dovie Bell; her husband, T.A. Medart Sr; son, Tom Medart Jr; her two brothers, Denny and Bud Bell; sister, Hollie Miller, all of Lampasas, Texas; and her Grand Daughter Tammy Medart, of Pottsboro, Texas. She is survived by two sisters, Jane Richards of Georgetown and Yvonne Harton and husband Harold Harton, of Lampasas; grandsons, Brad Medart and wife Barbara Medart; and Brian Medart, of Pottsboro, Texas; Great-Grandchildren, Korey Medart; Samantha Carr and husband Cody, of Pottsboro, Texas, and Austin Brei and wife Brooke Brei, of Denton, Texas; Great-Great Grandsons, Jayden and Alexander Atkinson, of Pottsboro, Texas; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. Elwanda lived a long life devoted to her Lord and her family. She will be dearly missed. Graveside service will be Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, TX.
