Carl E. Miller passed away February 20, 2017 at the age of 84. He was the oldest child of W.C. Miller, Jr. and Thelma Word Miller. He Graduated from Lampasas High School in 1951 and attended Tarleton State. He served 2 years in the U.S. Army. He married Barbara Long on Dec. 22, 1953. He and Barbara moved from Lampasas to Austin and lived there for many years. They returned to Lampasas in 1986 and he was very active in the community. He was Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce from 1990 –1998 and then joined his son with Hill Country Staffing and retired in 2008. He served on the Spring Ho Committee 2000-2003. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his ranch where he enjoyed hunting and taking care of his cows. He always had a reason to be on the tractor or his ATV. Carl and Barbara have been married for 63 years. They had 1 Daughter, Luan Faglie and husband Don of Georgetown and 1 Son, Carl G. Miller and wife Deanna of Round Rock. He was “Poppy” to 5 Grandchildren, Elisha Faglie of Georgetown, Whitney Bruch, Jordon Miller, Makenna Bartlett, and Logan Bartlett all of Round Rock. He had 1 Great Granddaughter, Elizabeth Bruch of Round Rock. He is also survived by a sister, Rachel Leanox and husband Gerald of Blossum, a Sister-in-Law, Shirley Miller of Hearne, A Brother-in-Law, Tommy Long and wife Sallye of Burnet and numerous nieces and nephews. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and brother Bobbie Miller. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Carl E. Miller to The First United Methodist Church at 2 Alexander Drive, Lampasas 76550 or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5pm-7pm and funeral service will be at 10am on Friday. Both will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
