Melanie Christine Wilson Smith, 39, of Lampasas, TX died Saturday January 7, 2017 at her home. She was born October 25, 1977 in Fort Stewart, GA, the daughter of James and Shari (Campbell) Wilson. She married John R. Smith Jr. February 14, 2007. She was employed by Spring Oaks Nursing and Rehab in Lampasas. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of Lampasas, daughters; Shana and Sierra Logan of Kempner, Mckayla Logan of Lampasas, Cortney Smith (Josh Hazlett) of Lampasas, granddaughter, Payton Steele of Gatesville, grandson, Jaydin Smith of Lampasas. She is also survived by her mother, Shari Wilson of Rome, GA, one brother, Daniel Wilson of Rome, GA, sisters-in-law; Janie Miller of Oregon and Cathy Smith of Washington. Melanie was preceded in death by her Father, James M. Wilson, daughter, Jordan Smith, father-in-law, John R. Smith, Mother-in-law, Nancy J. Smith, grandparents; Zeb and Jeanine Wilson and Walter and Daisy Campbell. Visitation is Wednesday January 11, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service is Thursday January 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow at Smith Cemetery in Oakalla. Memorials may be made to ST. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
