Ramon D. Canales

Ramon D. Canales, 84 of Lampasas, TX died Saturday November 26, 2016 at Rollins-Brook Community Hospital. Ramon was born in Lampasas on October 13, 1932 to Antonio (Tony) Canales and Sadie (Ricketson) Canales. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1951. He moved to Houston, TX as was a brick mason, and a union member over 50 years. He met Bertie Evarts in Houston and they were married in 1958. The family moved back to Lampasas in 1966. Ramon was a Methodist. He enjoyed hunting, raising cattle, having coffee at McDonalds early each morning with his friends. Ramon served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Bertie Canales Son, Tony Canales and wife Janice 3 grandchildren; Jennifer Farmer Jera Freeman and husband Chad Wes Canales 3 great-grandchildren; Brooklyn and McKinley Farmer and Witten Freeman. Visitation will be Monday November 28, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
