Lyndon Allen (L.A.) Porter, 93 of Lampasas, Texas died November 22, 2016 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX. L.A. was born April 20, 1923 in Lampasas county, TX the son of V.A. Porter and Alga (Hutcheison) Porter. He attended school Nix School. He married Alva Jean Lively and she preceded him in death. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. L.A. worked in West Texas as a cotton farm foreman and later he began building roads near Midland around 1952. He continued that construction when he moved back to Lampasas in 1965. L.A. Porter Construction was his passion and he was top in his field. He medically retired in 1985, but continued to advise on company projects. He was saved and baptized at Naruna Baptist Church. Survivors 2 sons; Jerry Porter and wife Jenell Donnie Porter and wife Melloney 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 9 great great-grandchildren Brother, Clayton Porter Sister, Reba Weeks Daughter-in-law, Donna Porter He was preceded in death by his parents, by son Ronnie Porter, by great great-granddaughter, Kenley Vickery, by brothers; Marlin, Alton and Clenton Porter and by sisters; Neva Machen, Alena Hutchison, Edna Carroll. Funeral service will be conducted Monday November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Nix Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday November 27, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
