Mutsu Crumley, 102 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday September 25, 2016 at home. Mutsu was born September 9, 1914 in Houston, TX the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Junzo Nagai. She grew up in Terry, TX near Vidor. She attended schools there and graduated from Beaumont High School. Mutsu graduated from Texas Women’s University with a degree in Library Science. She was hired in 1937 to become the first certified librarian for Lampasas Schools. She stayed until 1948 when she went to work at Baylor University as a librarian. In 1954 she moved back to Lampasas when she married J.M. Crumley. Mutsu continued to work in Lampasas and retired in 1975. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers, Lampasas County Historical Society, Lampasas County Museum and former member of Lampasas Library Board.

five Nephews
And several great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Mutsu was preceded in death by her parents, by 2 brothers and 3 sisters and by her husband J.M. Crumley.
Visitation for Mrs. Crumley will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Knox Cemetery.
