David Lee Johnson

David Lee Johnson, 86, of the Lampasas/Burnet area died Thursday, September 1, 2016 at home. David was born on November 16, 1929 in Georgetown Texas to Eric G. and Ann Johnson. He graduated from Austin High School in 1947 and became a member of the Texas National Guard. David learned how to build homes from his father and later took over the family building business. He built many custom homes and commercial buildings in the Austin area. David retired from building and became a rancher in the Lampasas area. He loved his ranch and spent much time exploring and learning every detail of the property. David was an avid outdoorsman with many hunting and fishing adventures. David loved to join in “friendly” shooting matches with family and friends including the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Association where he was a lifetime member. David was a proud member of the Lake Victor Baptist Church. David is survived by his • beloved wife, Mary Johnson, • sons Les, Larry & wife Kim, and Lee Johnson, • daughter Linda Gindler & husband John Prentice • and grandchildren Erika and Dillon Johnson A funeral service for David will be at 10:30am on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at the Sneed Funeral Chapel (201 East 3rd Street, Lampasas TX). Burial will be at 3:00pm in the St. John’s Cemetery (FM 1460 and west corner of Westinghouse Road/CR 111, Georgetown TX). Donations to honor David may be made to the Lake Victor Baptist Church (3030 FM 2340 Lampasas, TX 76550).
