Joe Loahman Wilson, 84 of Lampasas, Texas died Monday August 8, 2016 at his home. Joe was born May 4, 1932 in Leaday, Texas (Coleman County), the son of Earl Wilson and Agnes (MacNeil) Wilson. He finished High School in Aspermont, where he played football. He worked after high school at a grocery store and then joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Okinawa. After being discharged he began a career in dirt moving. He worked for Brown and Root for many years and later Chapman in ditching and trenching for cable installation. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas. In younger days he was a rodeo participant, roping was one of his favorite events.
Survivors include: daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Dean of Kooskia, Idaho
Sister, Mary Ann Mayfield of Ft. Worth
2 granddaughters, 4 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons and 1 great great-grandson.
Joe was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda and by sister, Julie.
A memorial service will be held Thursday August 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas.
Joe’s body will be cremated.
