Zella Mae Kennedy

Zella Mae Kennedy, 83 of Lampasas, TX died Sunday June 19, 2016 at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen. Zella Mae was born January 17, 1933 in Lometa, TX the daughter of Charley Blodgett and Dasie (Decker) Blodgett. She graduated from Lometa High School and later married A.C. “Lucky” Guess. She worked at a community grocery store in Lampasas, also at Ben Franklin Store and as a nurse’s aid at a local nursing home for many years. After Lucky died she married Hosea Kennedy June 28, 1985. Survivors include: one sister, Merle Grumbles of San Saba Step-son, Robert Glynn Guess of TN and numerous nieces and nephews Zella Mae was preceded in death by her parents, by both husbands, by 4 ½ brothers; James, Gilbert, Troy and Jay Blodgett and by ½ sister, Verna Mae Donahue, by brother Jim, Charles “Dee” and Clarence “Happy” Blodgett, by sister, Clara Brown Tutor. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday June 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorials be sent to the charity of your choice.
