Gladys Floella (Wright) Claunch, 95 of Palestine, TX died Monday June 6, 2016 at home. She was born August 28, 1920 in Mills County, TX near Star, the daughter of Hilary Hudson Wright and Alta Ann (Garrett) Wright. She was 7th of 12 children. She has been preceded in death by 10 siblings. Gladys married Raymond Edwin Claunch August 15, 1943, he also preceded her in death March 6, 1988. She lived most of her life in Lampasas, except when during WW II when they traveled while Ray served in the Air Force. She was a hairdresser, but after her first daughter was born, she stayed home to raise her family. Gladys also worked as a Home Health Aide and Dietary Aide for the homebound. She loved sewing, and piecing quilts. She taught piano lessons and tutored for several years. She helped to establish the first children’s choir at FBC Lampasas. She was a true believer in Our Savior Christ Jesus. She was a great inspiration to her family and will be greatly missed.

Step son, Donald Ray Claunch and Kay of Spring
Brother, M.L. Wright of Waco
6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren
And numerous nieces and nephews
Flo was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandson, Donald Raymond Claunch.
A funeral service for Gladys Claunch will be held on Saturday June 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will Friday June 10, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
