Myra Mabelene Brown, 89 of Lampasas, TX died Thursday May 5, 2016 at Granite Mesa Healthcare Center in Marble Falls, TX. She was born in Rockdale, TX September 13, 1926 to William David Young and Mamie Lucille (Smith) Young. She married James A. Brown November 24, 1948. They had two children, daughter Michele and son, Mitch. She worked for 37 years in the banking industry, serving as secretary-treasurer, loan officer and savings counselor. Mabelene retired in 1992. She was a member of Central Christian Church (DOC) in Lampasas, where she served as a Deaconess for several years. Visitation will begin Monday May 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Survivors include daughter, Michele Darling and husband Herb of Burnet Son, Mitch Brown and fiance’, Leslie of Houston. Leslie’s children, Tyler and Cohen. 4 grandchildren; Had Darling of Round Rock, Zac Darling of Round Rock, Jordan Brown of Copperas Cove and Ashley Brown of Austin. Sister, Gloria Young of Lampasas Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Sisters-in-law, Polly Cummings, Eva Brown, Nita Brown Brothers-in-law, Morris Brown and Bonnie, Billy M. Brown and Linda Mabelene was preceded in death by her husband, by four sisters; Agnes Hicks, Maxine Wendel Groves, Ella Taylor and Billie Patterson.
