Maximo Valadez

Maximo Valadez, 93 of Lampasas, TX died Friday February 12, 2016 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Maximo was born April 5, 1922 in Briggs, TX the son of Firmin Valadez and Josefa (Castenada) Valadez. Maximo lived in this area all of his life. He traveled with his family as farm worker and later he became a skilled sheep shearer. He made a career traveling even out of state taking care of the same herds for many years. He later worked for the local DPS office, taking care of the vehicles for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas. Survivors include; 2 sons; Arthur Valadez of Mexico and Miguel Valadez of Edcouch, TX 5 daughters; Rose Harvey of Waco Christina Royal of Harker Heights Mercedes Billings of CA Anna Morales of Harker Heights Margie Rubio of CA Sisters; Nancy Lee of Lampasas Josephina of Macaria of Burnet Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren also survive Maximo was preceded in death by his wife, Eva and by 5 children. Rosary will be recited Friday, February 19, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
