Mary Floriece Kirby (Flo) Ladyman of Lometa passed away Wednesday at her home. Visitation for Mrs. Ladyman will be Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lometa Church of Christ.
Mrs. Ladyman was born on May 1, 1928 at Lometa, Texas to Arthur Galyian Kirby and Helen Margueritte Todd Kirby. She graduated from Lometa High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Abilene Christian College.
Mrs. Ladyman married William Walter Ladyman on August 30, 1949 and they made their home in Abilene until moving to Sweetwater in 1951. They lived in Sweetwater until 1953 when they moved to Arlington. In 1991 they moved to their home on the ranch outside of Lometa.
Mrs. Ladyman taught elementary school in Hawley, Texas for one semester, in Sweetwater for one year, and in Arlington for thirty one years. Later she served on the Board of Trustees of Lometa Independent School District and as an advocate and tutor for students. Mrs. Ladyman was a member of the Church of Christ all her life. She taught Bible classes, and was very active in all church activities.
Flo and Bill bought their first ranch in 1965. She enjoyed the activities associated with the ranch, including buying and selling the cattle and maintaining ranch equipment and their residence. Flo delighted in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially having them at the ranch.

11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren
